Hi, Iām Mgan Zavertnik.
I am a licensed mental health counseling with a Masters of Arts degree in International Disaster Psychology from the University of Denver.
I have been fortunate to work within the Mental Health field for the better half of the last decade within different capacities and organizations. My experience within this field includes my work at a youth Autism emotion regulation research center, an outpatient treatment organization, a non-profit organization for survivors of sexual assault, and a community health center. I have had the privilege of working with clients ranging from 9 years old to 89 years old facing a variety of concerns. These wide ranges of experience have not only solidified my love for this work, but also provided an opportunity to sit with people with a variety of concerns. My main focus of my work has been working with clients to reducing and managing symptoms related to depression, anxiety, life transitions, and trauma-related symptoms.
My Approach
I am in this business because I believe in the power of having a space to be your authentic self, feel safe, and develop sustainable coping skills. I recognize that starting therapy can feel like a vulnerable process. With that I like to start with building a safe, comfortable relationship with my clients and start with a foundation of coping skills. While I like to utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, I tend to start with maladaptive thinking patterns and the ripple effect that has on the rest of our system. Overall, there is power is having a space that is completely devoted to you and your truth. My goal is always to harness that power to aid you on your healing journey.
